Sharing videos in RealTime
There are two ways to share a video in a RealTime meeting. You can e. g. play and share locally in your browser or via a video player on your desktop. The second option is to take a video from a video platform, e. g. YouTube or from your account on the IMS video platform via a link.
Share your screen or a browser tab
1. Open a video on a video platform, e. g. YouTube (don’t start the video yet) and set it to full screen mode.
2. Share your screen in the presentation, click on the screen icon,
select “Entire screen” and then click on the screen window below.
Alternatively, you can share a desktop window or a single Chrome tab in this way.
3. Start the video.
4. If necessary, click on the camera icon to present other video signals, e. g. other views (long shot, whole podium, audience, presentation, products, etc.). This enables interesting event or vision mixing functions without additional technology.
Share a video available on the Internet or a video on the IMS VOD server via the video link
1. Log into the IMS CMS, open the > Webfiles CDN and upload a video by dragging and dropping the video file into the white window or using the upload function.
Open the > details of the relevant video, open the > connection data and copy the URL.
2. Click on the “+” symbol in the lower left corner of your RealTime Meeting, select “Share external video”, insert the HLS link and click on “Share new video”. Alternatively, you can also enter the video platform link here.
3. Start the video.
(!) It is not possible to share a video in a presentation, as the presentations are converted into individual slides. Animations are also not possible within a presentation.
